Install:

Configure: Modify file ~/.vnc/xstartup as follows and restart the vnc server
$ vim ~/.vnc/xstartup
#!/bin/sh xrdb $HOME/.Xresources xsetroot -solid grey #x-terminal-emulator -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" & #x-window-manager & # Fix to make GNOME work #export XKL_XMODMAP_DISABLE=1 /etc/X11/Xsession
Test:
$ tightvncserver -kill :1 $ tightvncserver -geometry 1024x768
Add a script to /etc/init.d/:

Start 2 VNC instances to have the best resolution available on different devices, e.g. iPad and Computer
